Soul Snatchers

Soul Snatchers start off in human form and stay that way for at least the first ten years of their life after which time they discover their ability to snatch the souls of humans. Though they're able to continue to live out their life as a human, it's also neccessary for them to take souls - as a way of feeding.

Once they have stolen a soul, they gain the ability to shape shift into the form of the person whose soul they have taken. If the person was also capable of performing magic or certain spells, these options are also avaliabe to the soul snatcher. All the memories of the person are accessable to the Soul Snatcher. This doesn't give them any additional powers and if they got shot in the leg then they're going to react exactly the same way as a normal person who gets shot in the leg and said wound will take just as long to heal. Like their need to feed on souls, they also have to comply with the needs of the 'body' they are using and eat/sleep normally.

They can store as many different souls as they want to, and providing this is what a soul snatcher is doing, the person the soul was originally taken from is in a state similar to a Coma. Providing they're looked after - and they don't die of old age - they can have their soul returned to them one of two ways;

~ If the soul snatcher is killed (capable by removal of the head or burning them alive) or chooses to die naturally by living out the life of one of their human forms.

~ If the soul snatcher chooses to give the soul back.

Souls can be stolen whenever the Soul Snatcher wants to do so, but it's easier to carry out the process if the human is alone as a lot of concentration is required. Whilst in the process of stealing a soul, the Snatcher will lose it's form and shroud the victim in black smoke.

Each form that a Soul Snatcher can take still ages normally, but providing they shift between different forms they are capable of living for as long as they want.
